Some of the estimates have been quite expensive to do exclusion so we decided to try ourselves since our neighbor has a trap. We paid $1000 5 years ago for exclusion to rid our attic of Garden City animal control roof rats. We actually did see the rats at that time. What they did seemed to work until now.
